Wherever you log in, pc or mac, you have access to your very own gigabyte of storage space! (generous, eh?) On a PC, it's at the bottom of your "MY COMPUTER" browser window. On a Mac, an icon shows up on the right of the dock. Use this instead of your flash drive to transfer small stuff around.

FINAL CUT WON'T CAPTURE ! ? !

You gotta set all your scratch disks to your folder you created in the "STUDENT" hard drive. (The default setting points to nowhere so Final-Cut freezes.)

3D Studio Max won't open ? ! ? !

In the text field initially presented to you, type "JMCNAS". Then click "next", "next", "next", etc. until 3DSMax opens. Yay!

DUAL PLATFORM MAC/PC

To switch between Mac and PC in the Video Lab,
hold down the "option" key when you start or restart.
You will then have the option to choose.

STUDENT LOG-IN

Your log-in name and password is the same no matter what computer or lab you're in (PC or MAC). Follow these directions:
-If you are on a PC, for "log on to:" choose "CIAART"
-Log-in following this example:
if your name is John Smith...
name: jsmith
password: John_Smith (case sensitive)
-You are then asked to change your password.
Make it memorable, yet complex (AT LEAST 8 characters,
INCLUDING letters AND numbers).
